The Rev. Matthew Mezzatesta

Rector

Father Matthew comes from an Evangelical background. He entered the Anglican Church in 2020 when he started attending Holy Cross Anglican Church in Franklin, Tennessee and was confirmed the following year.

Following his graduation from the Nashville School of Law in 2022, he felt called to Holy Orders and underwent vocational training for the ministry under the mentorship of The Rev. Tim Williams, the Rector of Holy Cross Anglican Church. He was ordained to the transitional Deaconate in 2025. He was ordained to the priesthood in January of 2026. Father Matthew was formally installed as Rector of St. Stephen’s by the Rt. Rev. John A. Greaves, Jr. in February of 2026.

Originally from the upper eastern shore of Maryland, Father Matthew currently resides in rural Middle Tennessee.
